Marc Marquez will be looking to edge closer to Jorge Lorenzo's record of five
French MotoGP titles by winning this weekend's race.

The Ducati Lenovo Team rider endured a disappointing race at the Spanish MotoGP on 27 April, the most recent event on the 2025 MotoGP calendar.
Marquez finished 12th due to a crash after starting on the second grid, but he won the sprint event, which saw him accumulate a total of 16 points.
MotoGP title ambitions
The accomplished rider is placed in the second spot in the 2025 MotoGP Riders' standings, having collected 139 points from five races.
Marquez is one point behind leader, Alex Marquez of Ducati, as the two brothers go head-to-head for the MotoGP world title.
Why Marquez could win the 2025 French MotoGP
The eight-time MotoGP World Champion boasts the most victories in the current season, having won three out of the five races.
Marquez, who won the French MotoGP in 2014, 2018, 2019, and the 2011 French Moto2 race, is a clear favourite to win Sunday's event.
What did he say?
“It was a mistake we must learn from if we want to fight for the title," Marquez said after finishing 12th at the 2025 Spanish MotoGP.
"We had great speed, but we still need to fully understand the reason behind the crash, as I wasn’t attacking — I know the second part of the race is my strong point. Unfortunately, this is how it went.
"The important thing is that we have the pace and we’re only one point away from the top. I’m obviously super happy and proud of Alex for the win, as I knew it was one of his career goals.”
