Betway helps Zwide-based Rugby Club

Betway South Africa has chosen to use the game of rugby to uplift yet another local community. This time the brand travelled to Zwide Township in Port Elizabeth to deliver R85,000 worth of training and medical equipment to Kwaru Rugby Club.

The club was founded in 1982 to keep the Zwide community not only active but away from social ills. It is one of the few amateur rugby clubs in the Eastern Cape that offers both a male and female division. Mr Mzwanele Ngokro who is one of the founding members of the club applauded Betway or the contribution to the club and community.

“Besides our community’s passion for the sport of rugby, one of the reasons for the club’s existence is to offer a diversion from the crime ridden area. The club has shaped the lives of a number of people in our community through playing and voluntary work. With Betway’s assistance, we can continue with the club’s objective of developing rugby in Zwide and play a positive role in society.”

Betway South Africa Marketing Manager, David Rachidi, thanked the club for their contribution to their community and challenged the club to continue the wonderful work. He added that it was the brands passion to collaborate with sporting organizations that contributed to society.

“As a brand that has invested in community development, we take pride in lending a helping hand to such organizations.”
