Betway aids Cullinan Women’s FC with R120 000 sporting equipment and apparel

Betway’s vested efforts in community sport development were demonstrated yet again on Thursday, 22 August in Pretoria.
The leading sport betting company aided the development of another community sport organisation in the form of Cullinan Women’s Football Club with the donation of training equipment to the value of R120,000. The donation forms a part of the various community development initiatives that the company has embarked on over the last two years.

The Pretoria-based club was founded by Betway 12th Man graduate and former Banyana Banyana player Khabo Zitha, and currently competes in the Mamelodi Local Football Association.

The donation, which will assist the club in their ambitions of qualifying for the SAFA National Women’s League, includes balls, markers, first-aid kits and a wide variety of sport equipment required to develop future stars.

Speaking from the club’s training ground at the Cullinan Sports Centre, Zitha thanked Betway for the continued efforts of making a positive impact in society.

I am proud to say that I have done exactly that since completing the programme and through this donation, the running of my club can only improve. On behalf of the club and our community, we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Betway for the wonderful gesture,” said Zitha.

Over and above the donation of equipment, Betway will support Zitha in her upcoming women’s football tournament in celebration of women’s month.

The Betway 12th Man graduate will be staging an eight-team women’s football competition on 24 and 25 August at the Mamelodi Sports Grounds which will see Betway assisting with medals, trophies and a few overhead expenses.

The donation to the Cullinan Women’s Football Club follows a recent donation to Wheelchair Basketball South Africa of equipment to the value of R25,000, ahead of the start to their new season.

“As a brand that is heavily involved in sport, we always want to play our role in contributing to the growth of the various sports codes in whichever way possible. We are honoured to be playing a part in the Cullinan Women’s Football club’s journey and wish Khabo and the rest of her team the best of luck in their future endeavours,” said Betway SA Marketing Manager David Rachidi.
