Matthieu Pavon will be hoping to redeem himself by clinching the
AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open title having finished second in the 2018 edition.
What to know about Pavon
The French golfer has won four professional tournaments since he turned pro in 2014 and his father is former French professional footballer Michel Pavon.
Pavon, who has competed in the Challenge Tour and Alps Tour, challenged world number seven Max Homa for the recent 2023 Nedbank Golf Challenge title.

The last time the Toulouse-born sportsman was in action was at last month's 2023 DP World Tour Championship in the UAE where he finished fifth.
Pavon is currently placed 96th on the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR), and his best OWGR is 95th.
Why Pavon is among the favourites
The 31-year-old returns to an AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open where he’s always performed well in the past, including finishes tied for fifth in 2017 and second in 2018.
Pavon won his first European Tour event at the 2023 Acciona Open de España in October after he recorded a total of 261 (23-under-par) to win wire-to-wire by four shots.
