Red Bull Racing's Max Verstappen will be seeking a hat-trick of wins at the
Miami Grand Prix on Sunday, May 5 to build on his dominant start to the season.
The reigning three-time world champion has continued where he left off in 2023 by winning four of the opening five races this year to open up a 25-point lead over team-mate Sergio Perez in the drivers' standings.
Verstappen's only failure came in the Australian Grand Prix through no fault of his own after brake issues forced him to retire on lap 3, having started in pole position.
The Dutchman claimed his 58th career victory in the Chinese Grand Prix as he overcame two restarts to finish a comfortable 13.773 seconds ahead of McLaren's Lando Norris.
Verstappen did have a slight concern towards the end of the race after he ran over some debris that came off Zhou Guanyu's Kick Sauber following contact with Kevin Magnussen's Haas.
"It felt amazing," the 26-year-old driver said. "All weekend I think we were incredibly quick. It was just enjoyable to drive every single [tyre] compound as well.
"Restarts, I think we survived that well. The car was basically on rails, I could do whatever I wanted to with it, and those kinds of weekends are of course amazing to feel and of course, then, to achieve what we did this weekend is fantastic."
Looking ahead to Miami, he added: "It should normally be a good race for us. Normally a little bit more straightforward with the strategy, but it's always a quite difficult track. I'm excited, it's always quite a crazy weekend there, so it's going to be quite a busy one."
